God is never mentioned in the book of Esther.

Not once. No divine name. No prayer answered from heaven. No prophet. No miracle. The Great King who parted the Red Sea is entirely absent from the surface of a narrative about the survival of His covenant people.

What the book contains instead: a young Jewish woman who conceals her identity, a king who cannot sleep and asks for chronicles to be read, a villain whose timing proves consistently wrong, and coincidences so perfectly timed and favorable that the careful reader cannot help noticing the pattern even when the name behind it is never spoken.
