Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are books of wisdom, and the trap is to race through twenty proverbs at thirty seconds each. The class leaves with no center. Pick one passage instead. Here are three lessons, each a different way into wisdom.
Each lesson runs about twenty minutes: a 90-second Hook, a 3-minute Anchor, 12 minutes of Work, a 2-minute Turn, a 90-second Sending
Lesson A — The Covenant Frame
Anchor verse: “For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth” (Proverbs 3:12).
Hook
Open with a question: “Think about the last time you felt the Lord correct you. Not punish you, correct you. A nudge, a check, something you knew you had to face. How did you read it in that moment?”
Give them ten seconds with it.
